Ömer Akdaş from Huğlu is the founder of Akdaş Arms who started working in gun-making business in 1948 with a few of the best Turkish gunsmiths of the time. After a while, he designed his first single barrel shotgun and in the following years began to run his own gun workshop. Thereafter, he became well-known for his skills and was the gun-maker beloved by many hunters. Ömer Akdaş was the one ever to manufacture the very first side-by-side shotgun in Turkey.

Sadık Akdaş, his son, joined his father in 1975. Having learned any nuance of guns from his father, he has been repairing and maintaining all kinds of domestic and foreign made guns since the age of 13. He is the first Turkish gunsmith ever to produce an inertia operated semi-automatic shotgun with the help his father. In 2004, he designed and produced the first and unique English style side-lock over-and-under and side-by-side shotguns, which have been made in Turkey so far. Throughout his career, he has been regarded by hunters/shooters and is the only Turkish gunsmith to service high-end shotguns from all over the world.

Selim Akdaş joined his brother Sadık in 1987 and the conversion from old-school workshop to modern factory started. So far, Akdaş Arms has worked with some of world-famous shotgun manufacturing companies and proven its quality over and over. Thanks to the rich machine park, Akdas also produces high quality spare parts for industries like automotive and machinery since 2013. In addition, Akdas is a proud supplier for defense industry for more than 20 years. Nowadays, Akdaş Arms is doing his best to welcome foreign hunters into Turkish Shotgun World. With an experience over half a century, there is no doubt that Akdaş Arms handles it properly.

In March 1988, Huğlu Av Malzemeleri San. Trade Ltd. Sti. Our company, which was established with the title of HUSAN, has been manufacturing air rifles for 5 years. Between 1993-1998, it has been manufacturing spare parts and marketing shotguns in the arms industry and has been recognized as an exemplary organization in this field. Between 1998 and 2010, it produced spare parts for the automotive industry as well as the arms industry for 12 years and exported nearly 80% of its production to European countries. In 2010, the production of shotguns with the new generation bottom magazine MKA1919 and HUSAN brands started. Since 2014, it has continued its production in accordance with TSE TS-870 IS standard principles. Our company, which always gives priority to quality; on 08.10.2019 ISO 9001:2015 (KYS), ISO 14001:2004 (EMS), ISO27001(BGS) It has been entitled to receive its certificates and continues to produce in these quality standards. In the United States of America, where we realize the majority of our exports; For the first time, a Turkish brand was entitled to receive the Golden Bullseye Awards-Shooting Illustrated Shotgun (Shooting Rifle of the Year) quality award among the best products for shooting sports by the NRA (National Rifle Association) in 2016 with the MKA1919. Received National Secret and NATO Secret Facility Security Documents in March 2019. In May 2019, Establishment Permit was obtained from the Ministry of National Defense for the production of ballistic parts. Our company also has the Approved Supplier Certificate of the General Directorate of Military Factories. In 2020, it has been awarded the Grooved Production Permit by the Ministry of National Defense.
